The Modern Being was originally conceived of as an image based short story, and was presented at Macintosh Gallery on the grounds of Western University in late 2020. Made during the height of the pandemic, and inspired by German Expressionist cinema, the entire project was made in my living room. The backdrops and props were all home made and hand painted, the backdrops consisting of  two 6 foot by 6 foot canvas squares painted with acrylic. The whole thing was shot on 35mm expired black and white film on an old soviet Fed-2 rangefinder camera.
