The Last Dog and Pony Show in Dixie
Short Film
(2021-22)
The year is 2025, and the world has gone woke. And in the green and verdant pastures of England, the woke mafia have to decided to crack down on the hallowed and time honoured folk tradition of Mule Mounting. For the uneducated, or otherwise thoroughly uniformed, Mule Mounting is a tradition in the lake district, which traces it’s heritage back to the second world war, when British paratroopers, stationed in Nevada for special training with the US airforce experienced what is known stateside as “A Tijuana Donkey Show”. And so, with a bit of British flair, the art of Mule Mounting was born, and has since stood a testament to Anglo-American cooperation and mutual respect. That’s right folks, this is a film about fucking donkeys. But now, in the brave new dawn of a labour government, the vegetarians and animal rights types, possibly socialists, seem to have it out for the art form entirely. And standing in defiance to this moral outrage, and facing imminent bankruptcy due to dwindling patronage, is Ogilvie’s and Son, a second generation Mule Mounting establishment, the last of its kind in the world.
